Stein and Newman have broken this guide-book sized resource into sections dealing with eggs, dairy, meat, gelatin, processed sugars and more. Each section provides itemized replacement charts and sample recipes demonstrating how easily some recipes can be veganized. One simple example is their pumpkin bisque with garam masala.
This title also includes some intriguing vegan recipes for things like baked macadamia nut brie, vegan fondue, TVP pepperoni pizza topping and sesame fudge. While I wouldn’t call The Complete Guide to Vegan Food Substitutions a comprehensive recipe book for all things vegan, I would call it a decent transition resource for those new to the vegan lifestyle, and worth a look to moderately experienced vegans searching for a few fresh ideas.
