Recently, I had the opportunity to try out a new base ingredient for cocktails – I Spirit Vodka. I test drove this spirit at an overnight dinner party my husband and I hosted for out-of-town friends. So, what were the results?
First of all, the guests we hosted aren’t exactly vodka fans, and they were more than happy with the vodka cocktails we served. The words they used to describe I Spirit were light, crisp and unobtrusive. The cocktails tested were a basic bloody Mary and a simple vodka tonic. I wanted the focus to be on the flavor of the actual spirit and not how it blended with a bunch of other fruit ingredients.
I found both drinks to be fresh and light, and would recommend I Spirit as a mid-range vodka for those hosting an Italian night at home. I also think this vodka would be a great spirit to try with homemade vodka sauce on family pasta night.
Disclosure: So that I might provide my perspective on the product, I Spirit provided the test sample of vodka for this review. All of the other cocktail ingredients were provided by me, and I was not financially compensated in any way for the company for this review. The opinions expressed are my own, and those of my guests.
