Happy Hour Friday: The Sunburn Edition

In honor of the summer heat wave much of the country is seeing right now, this week’s Happy Hour Friday edition features a cocktail called the sunburn.

This cocktail comes from my favorite source for drink recipes, Mr. Boston.

HOW TO MAKE A SUNBURN COCKTAIL

What you need:

2 ounces Hot Shot tropical fruit liqueur, 2 ounces grapefruit juice, club soda, ice and grenadine.

What you do:

Pour the tropical fruit liqueur and grapefruit juice over ice into a highball glass. Fill the rest of the glass with club soda and a splash of grenadine for color.

Serving suggestions:

Host your happy hour get together in a shaded rooftop terrace location with a vegetable platter and some slow-roasted nuts prepared in the crock pot to avoid heating up the house.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN HAPPY HOUR FRIDAY

Participating in this weekly gathering at the virtual watering hole is easy. Just put a link to this carnival somewhere in your post and then submit the URL to your happy hour themed article below.  For those who need a bit more detail, I encourage you to check out two resources.

First, our newcomer’s guide to Happy Hour Friday. It spells out the carnival procedure specifically.

Second, check out this submission to our very first carnival by Carrie Kirby of Chicago Now. As you’ll see, she wrote her article normally, and included a blurb with a link to that week’s carnival. Easy peasy.

Thanks for participating! Remember, anything even remotely related to happy hour is fair game. Mocktails for moms to be, appetizer recipes, happy hour special deals posts, bar reviews, cocktail recipes  or a review of your favorite home town bar. Looking forward to your cocktail recipe submissions.
