Flavoring, whipping and molding your butter is a great way to add affordable punch to your family’s meals.

For a decadent honey butter, whip up equal amounts of softened butter and honey, adding a little bit of vanilla or other flavoring if desired. Store in an airtight container in the fridge and serve with home baked or oven warmed goodies.

You can also do the same thing with butter and various flavors of jam.

Want an elegant touch with your next dinner party? Mix in some fresh chopped herbs (rosemary, garlic, parsley, etc.) with softened butter and press into empty candy molds. Those little plastic ones with multiple molds are great for this, and they come in various shapes so you can coordinate your butter shapes with the dinner theme. If molding the butter shapes is a little over the top for you, put the herb mixture in the fridge to chill and scoop out with a small melon baller or miniature meatball / ice cream scoop. It will still look nice, but you can have it done way ahead of time.
