The inimitable mating of chocolate and peanut butter. Who can resist?
1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup butter or margarine, 1 cup creamy peanut butter, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tsp vanilla, 3 1/2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 2 10-ounce packages of chocolate kisses.
Cream sugars, margarine, and peanut butter. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Stir into egg mixture. Shape into balls. Roll in additional sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Immediately place an unwrapped chocolate kiss into each.
It helps to unwrap all of your chocolate kisses while the cookies are baking. Once you press the kisses into the cookies, you will need to let them cool. The kisses will melt and then re-cool while maintaining their shape if you don’t touch them. Of course, you may want to sample at least one gooey one for the experience!
