This was another recipe from some military friends of ours in Italy. Pretty yummy, if I do say so myself.

The ingredients:

1 pound butter, 1 pound powdered sugar, 1 pound brown sugar, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, whipped cream for topping.

Cream butter or margarine. Add the rest of ingredients and freeze mixture. To serve, put 2 tbsp of mixture into a mug. Add 1 ounce of spiced rum and fill remainder of mug with boiling water. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg.

I just test drove this recipe with light butter and light vanilla ice cream. It was still suitably decadent. Although, with two full pounds of sugar in the mix, I’m not sure how much the fat reduction efforts actually helped . . .

It makes a huge batch, though, so I’m sure it’ll last for a long time this season.
