Budget Decorating: The Travel Theme

David and I love to travel, and home decor items with a global feel really appeal to us. Some ideas?
Ethnic items from various countries, framed antique style maps, decoupaged coffee table tops done in maps or color copied foreign money and topped with glass, stacks of old suitcases, framed photos from our trips, etc. One idea I saw a while back that really appealed to me was to take one of those el cheapo cardboard trunks with brass trim that you usually see for college students at the chain department stores, and decoupage it with lots of pieces of old maps and post cards. I started saving paper items that fit the bill and hope to have enough to complete the project . . . some day. Here’s an article I ran across recently by a woman who gave herself a great travel themed office space for less than ninety dollars.
