From my recipe search while house sitting in Jordan.
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup cornmeal, 2 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp ground mustard, 1/2 cup shortening, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup milk.
In a bowl, combine first five ingredients. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Stir in cheese and milk until just moistened. Drop by 1/4 cups about 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 26-28 minutes or until golden brown. I would think these would also be good with chopped fresh green chilis, crushed red pepper, whole kernel canned corn, or other additions.
